Changing wrist bands on Forerunner 405 & 405CX
May 22, 2010 | In: Forerunner 405CX
Watch as Jake and a Garmin engineer show how to change out the wristband on the 405CX. The adjustable wrist strap is great for smaller wrists and is available as an accessory for the Forerunner 405.

Thanks so much for that video! I would NEVER have figured that out from the written instructions.

Thanks so much! Probably not something one should try the day before the marathon, but I did, and it worked!

I just wish that the 405 had come with this extra strap.. I’d have saved $24.. Feels and fits better than the original rubber band.. Yes, you can exchange the strap on your existing 405. CX is the same size model.

great video, thanks a lot!
it took me a little longer than you, but its really not that difficult. the fabric strap might look not as good as the original one, but in my oppinion its MUCH more comfortable! i’m absolutley ardent (do i say “ardent”? ^^ sorry, im not a native english speaker)
anyway, i absolutely LOVE my 405cx! great device!!

Thanks for posting this video. Got my 405cx today, but it didn’t come with instructions on how to change the wristband. It took me about 10 minutes, but I finally did it.

Can this be done on the regular 405 as well?

Great addition for the 405. Any chance that I can purchase a fabric strap and do this on the 405 that I have? Or is it only avail. on the new model, the 405CX?
